Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the office
  • Greets scheduled visitors and conducts to appropriate area or person
  • Organizing and maintaining files and records
  • Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
  • Planning and scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Managing projects and conducting research, prepare materials used in executive presentations
  • Preparing and editing correspondence, reports, and presentations

Infusion Intake & Billing Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Infusion Intake Specialist to receive and evaluate all home infusion referrals and ensure that they meet federal, state and accreditation standards for service reimbursement. This position requires that the employee understands how to evaluate benefits and obtain authorizations for potential home infusion clients. The Infusion Intake Specialist should understand third party payer medical necessity qualifying information, prior authorization requirements, and other contract requirements for services and equipment to be provided and reimbursed. This position will work co-operatively with the clinical and billing staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide intake and benefits investigations, obtain prior authorizations
  • Work with clinical team to ensure all referrals are properly evaluated for successful outcome, obtaining all necessary clinical information needed to obtain prior authorization under the supervision of the Intake supervisor.
  • Bill claims to the appropriate insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Check all forms for the accuracy of information
  • Monitor insurance payments received to claims submitted
  • Follow up on all unpaid or denied claims and adjust claim as needed to resubmit with corresponding documentation.
  • Participate in collections, notifying patient of their responsibilities for any charges that they incur
  • Develop a reminder file for all claims pending authorization and/or documentation.
  • Maintaining a billing hold report for all un-billable claims.
  • Enter all information into pharmacy software, scanning all documentation
  • Initiate initial client chart, ensuring that all supporting documentation is obtained, filed or scanned into system prior to initiation of treatment
  • Must be able to calculate drug billing using HCPC codes, diagnosis codes if needed.
  • Work cooperatively with billing/pharmacy verifying accuracy of dates of service, codes, prices, and services per payer and/or contractual requirements.

  • Responsibilities include insuring the accurate and timely dispensing and shipping of all related prescriptions
  • Identify and enroll all patients in appropriate patient assistance programs

Data entry Related Duties:

  • Process faxes and E-script orders
  • Manage and process refills
  • Input demographic and insurance information
  • Verify eligibility and specific drug coverage
  • Work on prior authorizations and insurance over-rides (Fill out forms and keep an active database and files)
  • Run appropriate labels • Refill reminders
